Macromedia Flash is the most interesting and complete tool for designing and creating web sites with high communication and image content. This programme more than any other allows the creation of extremely fluid and light applications. It is no surprise then that Flash has become the principal means of proposing and creating interactive environments online while providing a high degree of usability and ease of consultation. The aim of the course is to train Web Designers to use Macromedia Flash 5.0 for designing and building a web site.

The aim of the course is to train Web Designers to use Macromedia Flash 5.0 for designing and building a web site.


Characteristics and aims

Programme
- General introduction to characteristics. Considerations on its spread and potential applications.
  • Introduction to the world of Flash animation: requirements and compatibility.
  • Definition of skills: from vector graphics to web protocol.
    - Notions of vector graphics and production of vector-based content within the programme and in dedicated environments such as Macromedia Freehand and Adobe Illustrator.
  • How to build a vector-based component. What are the requirements? Lightness and simplicity.
  • Flash time layer interface.
    - Designing and producing animation using Flash 4-5. Creating buttons and defining more complex functions.
  • First animated designs: Motion Tweening and Motion Shape, movements and distortions
  • Analysis of all animation tools: movie clips, motion guides, level masks
    - Planning navigation and interaction.
  • Planning and creating user interaction: event management, constructing time action and buttons.
    - How to publish a Shockwave-Flash design on the Web.
  • How to generate the work produced: Quick Time movie, offline animation and, of course, network sites.
  • Introduction to the few HTML elements indispensable for managing a Flash object.
  • Analysis of problems connected with online site publication.
  • Introduction to the advanced scripting stage, made possible thanks to version 5 of the programme.
  • Conclusions and personalised guidance for further study and work.
